OBJECTIVE OF THE POSITION:
The objective of the Buyer/ Inventory Specialist position is to manage parts of the supply chain encompassing the procurement, receiving, inventory movement, quality and usage tracking for the materials used in development and commercial operations at Biodesix.
This role serves as a vital communication interface between the lab team and the operation team to ensure that material quality and delivery goals are consistently met or exceeded.
Responsibilities:
Purchase materials to meet the current forecast for each product Continuously monitor inventory levels to ensure adequate material based on current business needs Analyze inventory demand, generate, send, and track purchase requisitions and/or purchase orders Maintain an efficient and accurate system for monitoring all open purchase orders Timely and accurate entry of purchasing and inventory related transactions Perform and document regular cycle counts and physical Inventory counts Work closely with planning and Lab Operations to understand the constant changes of both forecast and performance to be able to adjust orders to meet all the needs Communicate projections for key materials yearly and review with vendors Source and obtain written quotes from vendors as required for new items by utilizing specifications supplied Assist with cost estimates, standard costing and special projects as needed Develop and provide materials reports to management Work with Supply Chain and Lab Operations team to ensure all deliveries satisfy the assigned purchase orders and report any back-ordered or missing products Assist in the sourcing of alternative products for interim shortages Monitor and coordinate movement of inventories within De Soto and Biodesix Ensure the coding of inventory and purchase products are correct Assist in reconciling purchasing/receiving/invoices Assist independent auditors financial, quality, or regulatory audits as pertaining to purchasing activities Look for and execute on, continuous improvement initiatives Create and update quality-related documentation Coordinate Vendors and/or performing Facilities and general Office Management related tasks COMPETENCY OR POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Experience:
